LXM: Start-Up Professional Tour to Stage 2nd Event in Austin
April 6th, 2010
The LXM Pro Lacrosse Tour will make its second stop this Saturday, April 10, when it stages “LXM512” at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin, Texas.
LXM512 will follow the same format as LXM949, the inaugural event that took place in Orange County, Calif., in November. The all-day event will start with an MCLA Division I college lacrosse game and be followed by a professional lacrosse all-star showcase.
Following the lacrosse, there will be several live musical acts, headlined by the band, “Carolina Liar.”
The day will begin at 12 p.m., CDT, when No. 16 Texas hosts Texas A&M in a critical Lone Star Alliance conference game.
Immediately afterward, 40 professionals will take part in a showcase game. Among those scheduled to appear are three-time NCAA Division I All-American and former Player of the Year Kyle Harrison, and four-time NCAA Division I All-American Joe Walters.
Afterward, popular local band The Bright Light Social Hour will take the stage for a live concert, to be followed by L.A.X. and Carolina Liar.
“Bringing together 40 of the world’s best lacrosse players in a thrilling match-up of strength and endurance, followed by a blow-out concert series, the LXM Pro Tour puts a new spin on America’s oldest sport,” LXM spokesman Craig Hochstadt said. “Inspired by the X Games and Dew Tour models, LXM hopes to introduce lacrosse and its rising stars to mainstream audiences, similar to how the X Games catapulted Shaun White and Tony Hawk into the spotlight.”
