COL BOYS: Koltin Fatzinger Commits to Chestnut Hill
January 29th, 2010
Wheat Ridge senior goalie Koltin Fatzinger has committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Chestnut Hill College.
Fatzinger was a second-team All-State selection in Colorado as a junior, and he has been named his team’s most valuable players three straight seasons.
“As a player, he’s got quick hands and he’s a tremendous athlete,” Wheat Ridge head coach Chris Knott said. “He’s probably the best overall athlete on our team, and he brings leadership qualities as well.”
As a freshman, Fatzinger initially played defense until Wheat Ridge’s starting goalie that year was ruled to be academically ineligible. Fatzinger stepped into the cage midway through the season, and he hasn’t relinquished the starting job since, Knott said.
“I think he’s going to continue to get better and will be able to make the adjustment from high school to college pretty easily,” Knott said. “Due to the fact that he’s a brand-new goalie, he’s still growing at the position.”
