TEX BOYS: Kevin Fritts Signs With Fairfield
January 8th, 2009
Highland Park senior attackman Kevin Fritts has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Fairfield University.
As a junior, Fritts set the school’s single season record for points, as he helped the Fighting Scots to the Texas High School Lacrosse League Division I state title. Fritts will be the third member of his family to play NCAA Division I lacrosse, Highland Park head coach Derek Thomson said.
“He’s got a tremendous work ethic,” Thomson said. “He certainly deserves all the recognition he’s getting, because he’s worked incredibly hard the last two or three years to get to where he is. I don’t think there’s anyone else in the state of Texas who works harder on his game. He leads by example.”
Thomson said he believes Fritts will be a successful college lacrosse player.
“I think he’ll do great,” Thomson added. “The family’s from back East, so he’s very well acclimated. I think he’ll do a great job representing us at the next level.”
