NorCAL GIRLS: Katie Whisenhunt Heading to Sonoma State

California senior middie Katie Whisenhunt will forgo an opportunity to play NCAA Division I lacrosse and attend Sonoma State University.
Whisenhunt was a U.S. Lacrosse first-team All-American selection as a junior, and she is listed as the No. 10 senior in WSL’s Girls Elite 25 individual player rankings. Whisenhunt has been courted most recently by UC Davis.
Whisenhunt plans to pursue a career teaching severely handicapped children.
Sonoma State has a women’s team that plays in the club level WDIA.

I was just hunting around for some info for my daughter who is a lax player and I saw this post. I have a severely disabled son and I am very aware of the need for teachers in special ed. I think that what you are doing is very noble, and it makes all this hype about lax seem a little silly. Good luck (plus Sonoma is an awesome area, much nicer than Davis!).
