Bishop Kelly senior attackman Joseph Eck has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Washington & Jefferson College.

Eck said he also considered Dominican (Calif.), Idaho and Centenary (La.) before settling on the Washington, Pa.-based school.

“It was just a good fit academically and athletically,” Eck said. “The team was just a good group of guys, and I really liked the coach too.”

Eck registered 71 points this season, and most of those were goals. He said making the upgrade from high school to NCAA-level lacrosse will be challenging.

“It will be difficult,” Eck said. “The level of play is a lot higher on the East Coast. But Idaho is catching up, so hopefully I won’t have too hard of a transition.”
