NorCAL BOYS: Joe Mathews Commits to Fontbonne University

Las Lomas senior middie Joe Mathews has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Fontbonne University.
Mathews helped lead the Knights to a 13-5 record and the first CIF-North Coast Section playoff appearance in school history. Las Lomas lost to Clayton Valley in the first round of the North Coast Section playoffs.
Fontbonne head coach Nick Silva said Mathews will make an impact immediately.
“Joe Mathews is going to have the hardest shot on our team from the second he walks on campus,” Silva said. “I look forward to Joe being a force as an offensive midfielder, dodging to create opportunities for him to be our shooter on (extra-man opportunities). He has a rugby background, so he’s not afraid to get his nose dirty out there.”
