NorCAL BOYS: Jimmy Plain Commits to Dominican (Calif.)
August 6th, 2010
St. Mary’s-Berkeley senior attackman-middie Jimmy Plain has committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Dominican University.
Plain said he also considered Emmanuel College, Concordia (Wis.) and Fontbonne before settling on the San Rafael, Calif.-based school. Plain said he became interested in Dominican after attending a camp there.
“I could tell Coach (Ned) Webster knew his stuff,” Plain said. “At the camp, Coach Webster taught me more than I had learned in my entire lacrosse career. Once I was there, I could tell that this is where I want to be.”
Plain added that he believes he has the proper mindset to make the transition to the college game.
“It’s going to take a lot of hard work,” he said. “I think I’m ready. There are still a lot of things I have to improve on, but I think it’ll be smooth.”
