NEV HS: James Gravitt Named New Faith Lutheran Coach
December 24th, 2009
Faith Lutheran High School has named James Gravitt as the new head coach of its boys varsity lacrosse team.
Gravitt, 41, replaces Richard Fiore, who stepped down in the offseason and passed away on Thanksgiving. Fiore led Faith Lutheran to two Las Vegas Lacrosse League championship game appearances in 2007 and 2008.
A native of Coal Valley, Ill., Gravitt did not play college lacrosse, but he did serve as Fiore’s assistant for three seasons. This will be his first head coaching job.
“It’s an honor to take over with everything that’s happened with Rich,” Gravitt said. “We were real close. We’re still a young team, and we’ll be spending the rest of the season working with the team and the programs below us.”
