TEX GIRLS: Hannah Clarke Commits to William & Mary

January 12th, 2009

St. John’s senior Hannah Clarke has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at William & Mary.

The midfielder helped lead St. John’s to a runner-up finish in Texas last season. St. John’s Coach Angie Kensinger said Clarke has “tremendous speed and excellent footwork” and “a good defensive mindset but is also a great threat on attack.”

Kensinger said the Williamsburg, Va.-based school was “a perfect fit” for Clarke “in terms of academics and social life and lacrosse.”

Clarke is Kensinger’s first player at St. John’s to commit to a Division I program.

“It’s very special,” Kensinger said. “Hannah’s been unique because since she was a freshman she said she wanted to play DI lacrosse. And we’re just so excited she’s fulfilled her dream. She’s worked hard.”
