Denver East senior middie Grant Beczkalo has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Bellarmine University.

Beczkalo was a second-team All-State selection as a junior, and Denver East head coach Jon Barocas called him a leader and an all-around middie.

“He’s one of the best face-off guys in the state,” Barocas said. “He’s going to be tough to beat. Not only can he face-off, he can play. He’s a full-rounded middie.”

Barocas said he believes Beczkalo will shine at the Louisville, Ky.-based school.

“I think he’s going to do great,” Barocas said. “He’s strong, he’s got good size and I think the college he picked is going to be a good fit. He’s going to get a lot of playing time.”
