COL BOYS: Frazier Cavness Commits to Dartmouth
Kent Denver senior attackman Frazier Cavness has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Dartmouth College.
Cavness has been on Kent Denver’s varsity team since his freshman season, and last year he was a first-team, All-State selection. When he gets to the Hanover, N.H. campus in the fall, Cavness will join former Kent Denver standout Michael Reilly, who is now a freshman.
Cavness is small -- he stands just 5-foot-7 and weighs about 160 pounds -- but he is not to be underestimated.
“Frazier’s got exceptional quickness and change of direction,” Kent Denver head coach Tom Graesser said. “Though he’s not a big individual, he is extremely physically tough. I was certain he was a lefty until his junior year, when I found out he was actually a natural righty. He’s as ambidextrous as anyone I’ve ever coached.”
Graesser added that he believes Cavness will play immediately at Dartmouth.
“I actually believe he could start as a freshman,” Graesser said. “He’s diminutive, but because of his quickness and toughness he’s extremely difficult to guard. He’s the epitome of the Energizer bunny.”
