TEX BOYS: Fort Worth Country Day Wins Div. III Championship

Junior attackman Aaron Hall registered a game-high five points on two goals and three assists to lead Fort Worth Country Day to a 9-7 victory over Keller in the Texas High School Lacrosse League North District Division III championship game Sunday afternoon.

Freshman middie Cameron Fraser added three points on two goals and an assist to help the Falcons (10-6) pick up the first lacrosse title in school history.

Senior middie John Hill and junior attackman Elkin Kleberg each finished with a goal and an assist, and freshman attackman Allan Hall, junior attackman Jeff Schriber and freshman middie Blake Waltrip all had a goal to round out the scoring.

Defensively, senior goalie Aaron Parker saved eight shots.

In defeat, senior middie Randy McMinn scored a game-high three goals for Keller, which finished the season 7-8.

Fort Worth Country Day led 2-1 at the end of the first quarter, 4-3 at halftime and 5-3 at the end of the third quarter.

Keller fought back to tie it, and the game was 7-7 late in the fourth. Fraser scored the go-ahead goal with 3:27 remaining to put the Falcons ahead to stay, and Aaron Hall added an insurance goal with 2:26 to play.

“It’s been quite a turnaround for us,” Fort Worth Country Day head coach Ed Craver said. “We’ve played good enough defense to win games all along, but this year we ratcheted up the offense."
