WOMEN: Fort Lewis Head Coach Stepping Down After Season

April 1st, 2010

Fort Lewis College head coach Kelley Queisser-McPeake will step down at the end of the season, the school has announced in a news release.

Queisser-McPeake is the only head coach in the short history of the Fort Lewis program. This is the second season of NCAA Division II lacrosse at Fort Lewis, which recently won for the first time. The Skyhawks are 1-14 under Queisser-McPeake.

According to Fort Lewis, Queisser-McPeake is stepping down to move to San Diego while her husband is called into active military duty. A national search for a new coach will begin in the near future, the school announced.

“This is a very tough decision to make,” Queisser-McPeake said in a news release. “I will miss working with the tremendous group of young ladies. They are wonderful people, students and lacrosse players. I know they will continue to pass on my passion for the game. I wish the team the best of luck in the future.”
