Former Denver East standout Josh Russell is transferring to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Mesa State College.

Russell, a two-time All-State high school player, spent his first year in college at Division I Stony Brook in 2009. He will join Mesa State in time for the school’s first season of NCAA lacrosse.

As a freshman, Russell played eight games at Stony Brook. In high school, he registered 157 points on 67 goals and 90 assists.
