AZ BOYS: Five Top Players Commit to Arizona State

Five of Arizona’s top players have committed to play MCLA Division I lacrosse at Arizona State University.

Chandler senior goalie Brian LaFlam, Chaparral senior attackman Jeff Petznick, Desert Mountain senior defenseman Jensen Cruse, Saguaro senior middie Thomas Slezak and Desert Mountain senior defenseman Zachary Mendoza will all be heading to Tempe in the fall, according to the Sun Devils’ coaching staff.

Arizona State returns to the field in 2010 after having its 2009 season canceled. Despite the time off, the Sun Devils are ranked No. 5 in the MCLA Division I Preseason Top 23, and they continue to get commitments from some of the West’s top players.

In all, Arizona State has pulled in nine commitments so far, including four from some of Northern California’s top players.
