Fort Collins Unified junior defenseman Ethan Kitchell has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Vermont.

Kitchell said he also considered Navy, UMass, Stony Brook, Dartmouth and Hartford before settling on the Burlington-based school.

“It’s a really good school, I really liked the college town and coach (Ryan) Curtis was a great defenseman,” Kitchell said. “I really think I could learn a lot from him.”

Kitchell added that he is pumped to take his game to the next level.

“I’m excited,” he said. “I’m sure it’s going to be a little difficult freshman year, but I think it’ll be a good time.”
