NLL: Edmonton Rush Beats Colorado Mammoth Before 16,734

Forward Ryan Benesch registered a game-high eight points on three goals and five assists to lead the Edmonton Rush to an 11-9 victory over the Colorado Mammoth before a crowd of 16,734 Saturday night at the Pepsi Center.
Dan Teat added seven points on three goals and four assists, Andy Secore had four points on two goals and two assists and Jason Wulder finished with four points on a goal and three assists to help Edmonton (2-2) win for the second time in its last three games.
Defensively, goalie Chris Levis saved 43 shots.
In a losing effort, Gavin Prout and Gary Rosyski each had four points on two goals and two assists for Colorado, which fell to 1-2. Brian Langtry dished three assists, Dan Carey scored two goals and Jed Prossner had a goal and an assist for the Mammoth.
Edmonton led 9-4 after Secore scored his first goal with 12:01 remaining in the third quarter, but the Mammoth answered with a four-goal run to pull within a goal. Gavin Prout made it 9-5 when he scored with 4:01 to play in the third quarter, and by the time Rosyski scored with 9:51 remaining in regulation, it was 9-8.
But that was as close as the Mammoth could get.
Edmonton reclaimed a two-goal edge on Teat’s third finish of the night, and Secore made it 11-8 with 1:51 remaining.
