COL BOYS: Devin Arruabarrena Signs With Bellarmine

Fort Collins Unified senior attackman Devin Arruabarrena has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Bellarmine University.

Arruabarrena said he also considered Stevenson and Colgate before settling on the Louisville, Ky.-based school. When he gets to Bellarmine next fall, he will be joining former teammate Henry Miketa, WSL’s 2007 Colorado Player of the Year

“I really liked the campus and culture down there,” Arruabarrena said. “It was a real good fit for me, because it’s a smaller school so I can get help in the classroom and it’s easier to focus. And the coaches are really nice.”

Arruabarrena added that he is nervous about making the transition to the college game and moving halfway across the country, but excited as well.

“It’s going to be a lot of work and a lot of time and a lot more serious,” Arruabarrena said. “There’s going to be a lot more dedication in college than in high school. I’m really excited to play there.”
