September 14th, 2009
The University of Denver men’s lacrosse team has added to its coaching staff, bringing on former Princeton assistant coach Kevin Unterstein.
Unterstein will be a volunteer assistant and will assist Trevor Tierney with the defense. Unterstein’s prime focus will be working on the Pioneers’ face-off game.
Unterstein played four seasons of NCAA Division I lacrosse at Hofstra, where he excelled as a short-stick middie.
“We are thrilled to have Kevin join our staff at DU,” head coach Bill Tierney said in a news release.
“He is one of the most talented young coaches in the game and will have a great future in coaching collegiate lacrosse. With the addition of Kevin to our staff, the Pioneers will have an even better chance to make an impact on the national scene in Division I lacrosse.”
