Arapahoe senior defenseman Davis Gunter has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs.

Gunter said he will attend the Air Force Academy’s prep school for a year before entering the university.

“It was something that I had been thinking about for a long time and realized it was something I want to do,” Gunter said. “There’s no other school like it. I wanted to serve, have the best education in the world and I wanted to play lacrosse.”

Gunter said he believes he is ready to take his game to the next level.

“I’ve been playing against kids who are going to Duke and Hopkins, and I’ve been able to hang with them,” Gunter added. “It’ll be a lot faster, and it’ll be a lot different than high school, but I’m totally prepared for it.”
