SoCAL BOYS: Dane Farguson Commits to Dominican (Calif.)
August 6th, 2010
Coronado senior defenseman Dane Farguson has committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Dominican University in San Rafael, Calif.
Islanders head coach Alex Cade called Farguson the best long pole on his team.
“Dane is our strongest defenseman with the ability to shut down top players from any team,” Cade said. “His work ethic, athleticism and defensive knowledge will serve the Penguins well.”
Cade added that he believes Dominican -- one of three NCAA-sanctioned schools in California -- was a good choice for Farguson.
“I couldn't be happier that he has chosen to play for coach (Ned) Webster and the Penguins. Coach Webster has demonstrated a great recruiting eye and dedication to go along with a tremendous strategic game knowledge. I expect the Penguins to improve drastically and quickly under his direction.”
