Jordan senior attack-middie Dana Barraco had committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Whittier College.

Barraco said she also considered Quinnipiac and Westminster before settling on the Southern California-based school. Barraco said she met the coaching staff at Whittier after stopping by the campus on an impromptu visit before playing in January’s Sandstorm girls lacrosse club tournament, which was played in nearby Palm Desert.

“They immediately took me in, introduced me to the entire program, took me around and they were just awesome,” Barraco said. “The coaches were the deciding factor.”

Barraco added that she can’t wait to take her game to the next level.

“I’m just so excited,” she said. “I’m ready for the challenge. I want to be an impact player.”
