Crystal Gail Mangum, the woman who caused a national furor when she falsely accused three Duke men’s lacrosse players of raping her, has been arrested in North Carolina.

According to published reports, Mangum, 31, has been charged with attempted murder and arson, among other things, in connection with a fight she had with her boyfriend. Mangum was arrested late Wednesday in Durham.

News reports say Mangum has also been charged with identity theft, communicating threats, damaging property, resisting an officer and child abuse. She is being held in jail in lieu of $1 million bond.

Police received a 911 call from a girl claiming to be Mangum’s nine-year-old daughter seeking help. When they arrived, they found Mangum fighting with her boyfriend and burning clothes in a bathtub, according to wire services.
