SoCAL BOYS: Connor Saucier Commits to Fontbonne University

Newbury Park senior defenseman Connor Saucier has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Fontbonne University.

Saucier helped lead the Prowlers to a 17-3 record this season. Newbury Park was among the elite non-CIF teams in California in 2009.

Fontbonne head coach Nick Silva said he believes Saucier will be a big asset to the St. Louis-based program.

“He’s a big, physical defenseman,” Silva said. “Connor is a leader. I think Connor is going to be able to contribute as a freshman. He can communicate, he’s physical and he has a very good lacrosse I.Q.”
