MEN: Colorado College Claims First-Ever SCAC Win, 12-5

Sophomore attackman Moses Taylor registered a game-high six points on three goals and three assists to lead Colorado College to a 12-5 victory over Birmingham-Southern in an NCAA Division III game Saturday afternoon in Birmingham, Ala.
In the first-ever Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference men’s lacrosse game, Carson Christman and Hunter Sprole each added four points on two goals and two assists to help the Tigers (4-1, 1-0 SCAC) win their second straight. Bart Cerf had a goal and an assist, and Chris Love, Toby Cohen and Brendan Gangl all had a goal to round out the offense for Colorado College.
Defensively, goalie Brendan Haas saved 11 shots.
In defeat, Nico DeRosa finished with a team-high three points on two goals and one assist for Birmingham-Southern (3-7, 0-1).
Birmingham-Southern led 1-0 at the end of the first quarter, but it was all Colorado College from there. The Tigers scored 10 goals over the next 30 minutes and led 4-2 at halftime and 10-3 at the end of the third quarter.
Colorado College outshot Birmingham-Southern 39-26, including a 34-17 edge over the first three quarters.
