TEX BOYS: Clarke Lewis Commits to Roanoke College
January 22nd, 2009
The Woodlands senior middie Clarke Lewis has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Roanoke College.
Lewis, who lived in Atlanta until age 10, said he also considered Presbyterian and Wooster but chose the Virginia-based school because of its academics, proximity to his original hometown and the program’s reputation.
“They have a good business program, and I liked the location,” Lewis said. “I wanted to go to the East Coast to play, because it’s kind of close to where I grew up. It’s got a good lacrosse tradition. They do well every season, and I wanted to be a part of that.”
Lewis said he is ready to make the transition to the college game.
“I think it’ll go pretty well,” he said. “It may be a bit of an adjustment, but I think it will be pretty fun. I’m really excited.”
