MO BOYS: Christian Brothers Finishes the Job Against SLUH

May 13th, 2010

The Christian Brothers boys lacrosse team finished what it started against St. Louis University Jesuit on Wednesday night.

Senior middie Gerry Leonard registered a game-high five points on three goals and two assists to lead the Cadets to a 10-4 victory over the Junior Bills in a Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association Division I game that was resumed after being suspended on April 23 due to inclement weather.

Junior attackman Connor Mullen added four points on three goals and one assist, senior middie Tim Cribbin had three points on two goals and one assist and junior attackman Greg Heaghney scored twice to round out the scoring for Christian Brothers (15-3), which has won five of its last six.

In the cage, senior goalie Jacob Redlingshafer saved 10 shots.

SLUH fell to 13-4.

Christian Brothers led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter when the game was initially called, so that’s where the two teams picked up Wednesday.

The Cadets outscored the Junior Bills 6-3 over the final three quarters. It was 6-2 at halftime and 7-3 at the end of the third quarter.

“We played well,” Christian Brothers head coach Eddie Condon said. “To hold SLUH to four goals is a good accomplishment. I think we came in confident.”
