MO-OH BOYS: Christian Brothers Downs Indian Hill, 13-10

April 25th, 2010

Senior middie Gerry Leonard registered a team-high six points on three goals and three assists to lead Christian Brothers to a 13-10 victory over Cincinnati Indian Hill in the second game of the Braves’ weekend road trip to St. Louis.

Sophomore attackman Phil McFarland scored five goals, and junior attackman Connor Mullen added five points on three goals and two assists to help the Cadets (10-2) bounce back from Thursday’s upset loss to MICDS.

Junior attackman Graham Guirl and senior middie Scott Binz each scored once to round out the offense for Christian Brothers, which has won seven of its last eight.

Defensively, senior goalie Jacob Redlingshafer and junior goalie Andrew Kramer combined to save 14 shots. Kramer made three saves in the first quarter, and Redingshafer made 11 saves in the final 36 minutes.

Indian Hill (6-2) had its six-game winning streak snapped. On Saturday, the Braves opened their St. Louis trip with an 11-7 victory over MICDS.

On Sunday, Christian Brothers led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, 6-5 at halftime and 9-7 at the end of the third quarter. The teams then traded goals in the fourth down to the finish, as the Braves could never trim the margin closer than two.

“We played well,” Christian Brothers head coach Eddie Condon said. “It was a very good team. Their goalie is going to Drexel next year, so we were happy to put some points up on the board. We handled the ball well, which we’re very pleased about.”
