MO BOYS: Christian Brothers Clinches Patriot Conference Title
Junior goalie Jacob Redlingshafer saved 19 shots to key Christian Brothers’ 13-5 victory over St. John Vianney in a Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association Division I game Tuesday night.
With the victory, Christian Brothers improved to 18-2 and captured the Patriot Conference championship. The Cadets finished the regular season with a 12-2 record against in-state competition, and they are slated to be the No. 3 seed in the upcoming state playoffs.
Redlingshafer spearheaded a strong defensive effort that Christian Brothers head coach Eddie Condon said was one of the team’s best this season.
“My goalie had an incredible game. He was dialed in tonight,” Condon said. “Defensively, we played better than we have in a long time.”
Christian Brothers was plenty good offensively too. Senior attackman Nick Condon led the assault with a game-high seven points on six goals and one assist, junior middie Gerry Leonard had five points on two goals and three assists and sophomore attackman Graham Guirl added three goals.
St. John Vianney fell to 9-9 with the loss. The Griffins had their three-game winning streak snapped and fell to 6-7 against in-state competition.
