NorCAL BOYS: Carlton Fisher Signs With Lehigh
St. Ignatius Prep senior attackman-middie Carlton Fisher has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Lehigh University.
Fisher said he also considered Princeton, Penn, Dartmouth and Bucknell, but picked Lehigh because of its potential.
“I really like the coaching staff, and I think it’s a program on the rise and someplace where I can play pretty quickly,” Fisher said. “I have a lot of faith in these new coaches and thought it would be cool to be a part of a program on the rise.”
Fisher is one of five St. Ignatius Prep players who will be playing NCAA Division I lacrosse next season. He joins seniors Will Fredericks (Loyola), Nick Miller (Bryant), Billy Mattimore (Bucknell) and Kevin Downs (Mount St. Mary’s).
Fisher said that he thinks his experience playing in East Coast recruiting events has helped prepare him somewhat for the next step.
“It’s definitely going to be a lot faster,” he said of the college game. “I think I’ve got a good feel for what I’m coming into. It’s definitely going to be a transition, though."
