NLL: Cam Sedgwick Leads San Jose Stealth Past Edmonton

Cam Sedgwick registered a game-high six points on four goals and two assists to lead the San Jose Stealth to a 16-6 victory over the Edmonton Rush before a crowd of 3,256 Saturday afternoon at H.P. Pavilion.
Curtis Hodgson, Tom Johnson and Colin Doyle all added four points to help the Stealth (2-3) win for the second time it its last three games. Hodgson and Johnson each finished with two goals and two assists, and Doyle scored a goal and dished three assists.
Jeff Zywicki and Rhys Duch both had three points on a goal and two assists, and goalie Matt Roik saved 35 shots for San Jose.
In a losing effort, Dan Teat had a team-high three points on a goal and two assists for Edmonton (2-4), which has lost three of its last four.
The Stealth scored the game’s opening five goals and took a 5-0 lead when Hodgson scored his first goal with 8:31 remaining in the first half. Edmonton came back to close within 5-3 at halftime, but it was all Stealth in the second half.
San Jose started the third quarter with four more unanswered goals. By the time Sedgwick scored on a man-up situation with 6:07 remaining in the third quarter, San Jose led 9-3. Edmonton pulled two goals back to make it a 9-5 game, but San Jose finished the game on a 7-1 run over the final 15:07.
