MEN: Brigham Young Fires Jason Lamb After 15 Seasons
Brigham Young University has fired head coach Jason Lamb after 15 seasons at the Provo, Utah-based school.
Lamb led the Cougars to MCLA National Championships in 2007, 2000 and 1997, and he also led Brigham Young to eight Rocky Mountain Lacrosse Conference titles.
Lamb did not return messages seeking comment.
In a statement posted to collegelax.us, Lamb said his dismissal came as a result of a conflict with the school’s Extramural Sports Department’s Director, Lee Gibbons.
“My goal of making BYU Lacrosse the best it can be on and off the field has led me to run the program in ways that exceed the scope of the Extramural Sports Department,” Lamb wrote.
In 2009, Brigham Young finished the season 18-4 and reached the MCLA Division I semifinals.
