McNeil senior middie Ben Marrone has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Goucher College.

Marrone said he also considered Ursinus, Manhattanville and Colorado College before settling on the Baltimore-based school.

“It has a lot of the academics I’m looking for, and Coach (Kyle) Hannan seems like he’s a great coach,” Marrone said. “The team seemed like they were a great group of guys, and the surrounding area is nice. It’s the hub of lacrosse.”

Marrone is one of two Austin-based Texans to commit to Goucher. He will join Westwood senior middie Pierce Ingram, who also recently committed.

“It’s really exciting,” Marrone said. “I’m really thrilled to represent Texas in the NCAA. I’m excited to take the next step and play against some of the best competition in the country.”
