ORE BOYS: Ben Dill Commits to University of Hartford
February 19th, 2010
Sunset senior attackman Ben Dill has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Hartford.
Dill said he was set to attend a year of prep school at Bridgton Academy in Maine before Hartford came calling.
“I visited it a few weeks ago, and they have a really young staff, which I like,” Dill said. “The team is really close, so I liked that.”
Before relocating to Oregon at age nine, Dill lived the early part of his life in Amherst, N.H., so he should have an easier time transitioning to the Connecticut-based school.
“I’ve been planning on going to the East Coast my whole life since I grew up there,” Dill said.
Dill added that he is prepared to do what it takes to make a successful transition to the Division I game.
“I definitely need to start lifting, get bigger and put on some weight,” Dill said. “Changing to a faster pace is definitely going to be a challenge, but hopefully I can get used to it.”
