Episcopal School of Dallas senior middie Basil Kostaras has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Quinnipiac University.

Kostaras has been a starting midfielder in the Lone Star State since his freshman season. He originally played at Southlake Carroll before transferring to Dallas Episcopal.

“He’s got great speed,” Dallas Episcopal head coach Kevin Barnicle said. “He’s probably one of our best defensive middies, but he’s also one of our best shooters and one of our best playmakers out of the midfield. He’s an all-around, outstanding athlete.”

Barnicle said he believes Kostaras will successfully take his game to the next level.

“He’s been an awesome asset for ESD, and he’s definitely one of the best middies in the state this year,” Barnicle said. “I think he’s going to do great. He’s gotten better every year. He’s improved a ton in the last year-and-a-half.”
