MEN: Arizona State Names Joe Kostolansky Assistant Coach

September 3rd, 2009

Arizona State has named Joe Kostolansky as the new defensive coordinator of its men’s lacrosse team.

Kostolansky will serve under Chris Malone, who is attempting to resurrect the program after it sat out the 2009 season under school suspension. Kostolansky has coached at the NCAA level at Skidmore, Nazareth and Vermont.

Kostolansky is a 2003 graduate of Hofstra University, where he played four seasons of NCAA Division I lacrosse as an attackman and participated in four NCAA tournaments. He played four seasons professionally with the Rochester Rattlers, Boston Cannons and San Francisco Dragons in Major League Lacrosse.

“We are very pleased to have Joe on our staff and look forward to his contributions at ASU,” Malone said in a news release. “I look forward to working with him on a daily basis to help the program meet its goals for the 2010 season.”
