March 11th, 2010
Junior attackman Jake Arbon scored a co-game-high three goals to lead Alta to a 10-4 victory over Jordan in a Utah High School Lacrosse League Division I game Wednesday afternoon.
Freshman attackman Kyle Baldassari added three points on two goals and an assist, and sophomore middie Matt Michali scored a pair of goals to help the Hawks (1-0) win their season opener.
Senior middie Paco Smith, senior middie Chase Triptow and sophomore middie Mackay Dunn all scored a goal to round out the offense for Alta, which won decisively in the debut of new head coach Todd Handley.
In defeat, Taylor Price registered a game-high four points on three goals and one assist for Jordan (0-1), which dropped its season opener.
Alta controlled the game from the early moments. The Hawks led 3-1 at the end of the first quarter, 7-2 at halftime and 8-3 at the end of the third quarter.
“I thought we did well,” Handley said. “We were a little hesitant on offense, but we got into the groove and things started rolling. Hopefully, we can keep it going.”
