COL GIRLS: Alex Befus Signs With Denver

Air Academy senior middie Alex Befus has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Denver.
Befus also considered Towson and Maryland but opted to stay close to home, Air Academy head coach Sean Harmon said. Befus will be getting a partial athletic scholarship.
“She has a great nose for going to the net and finishing,” Harmon said. “She has great strength.”
Befus scored 14 goals and dished three assists in six games last season before she tore her anterior cruciate ligament and missed Air Academy’s final 12 games. Harmon said he believes Befus can make an impact right away at Denver.
“I think she’ll do fine,” he said. “She has the ability to contribute immediately.”
