LOU HS: 27 Teams to Compete at 3rd Sugar Bowl Lax Classic

The 3rd-annual Allstate Sugar Bowl Lacrosse Classic will be staged next weekend, Feb. 6-8, at New Orleans City Park.
The event will be comprised of a record 27 teams competing in three divisions: Varsity, junior varsity and under-15. In 2007, the first year of the event, eight teams participated. Last season, 15 teams competed.
Nine teams from the new Louisiana High School Lacrosse League are scheduled to compete in the varsity division. They are Brother Martin, St. Paul’s, Archbishop Rummel, New Orleans Jesuit, Lafayette, Comeaux, Baton Rouge Catholic and C.E. Byrd. Also back will be two-time defending champion Klein of Houston.
In the under-15 division, the Ithaca Lacrosse Club will be traveling from Ithaca, N.Y.
